not sure why you use Gentoo, IMHO, just use rockscluster hpc in a dvd

With the help of Rayson I've managed to build it now. I'll have to
learn more and check the setup.

I'll keep your message in mind. Gentoo does not use rpm's, but rather
compiles everything from source. But there are tools available I can
use to extract or convert rpm to tar etc.
