I would like to use an older setup of GE 6.0u8 32-bit from a machine running a recent 64-bit installation. The GE 6.2u5 binaries have been compiled and installed into bin/lx26-amd64, and are executing properly.
The problem is that the 64-bit binaries cannot connect to qmaster which is running the old 32-bit version (connection refused). The program I want to run on the grid has a 32-bit version, so in theory I should be able to ask for its execution on the grid by its path and executable name. Is there a way to connect to a 32-bit 6.0u8 server from a 64-bit 6.2u5 client? I understand that using the 32-bit version of the client can be also a way to go, but for various reasons this seems to be hard to impossible (I have no root access and the compatibility libs are not installed).
