I would like to use an older setup of GE 6.0u8 32-bit from a machine
running a recent 64-bit installation. The GE 6.2u5 binaries have been
compiled and installed into bin/lx26-amd64, and are executing properly.

The problem is that the 64-bit binaries cannot connect to qmaster which is
running the old 32-bit version (connection refused).

The program I want to run on the grid has a 32-bit version, so in theory I
should be able to ask for its execution on the grid by its path and
executable name.

Is there a way to connect to a 32-bit 6.0u8 server from a 64-bit 6.2u5
client?

I understand that using the 32-bit version of the client can be also a way
to go, but for various reasons this seems to be hard to impossible (I have
no root access and the compatibility libs are not installed).

Sorry if this was asked earlier, but I cannot find a way to search the
message archives.

Thank you,

Balint
