I was able to submit the job as per the suggestion. I need some more clarification If I assign allocation rule as 8, so is it I can only submit jobs in multiples of 8 ie 8,16,24, etc., Also, consider I submit a job in 24 slots and there are 24 slots available in multiple nodes like node01=8,node02=4,node03=6,node04=6. Will the job able to run or it will wait for only when 8 slots are available on the node? If it couldn't able to run, what should I do to handle both the cases. What you can do is: define a PE with allocation rule 8 and request 16 slots.
