It was still 6.000000 as the master's processes, including the scheduler, were in error state (cf. http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.org.wikimedia.toolserver/6079 for a detailed analysis). This prevented inter alia status updates from the execds. It would have been nice if qstat would check the master's health automagically, but then there would be nothing to learn :-).
