Hi Fritz,
I both restarted the qmaster and the execd on nodes. Those
operations did not kill any running job. Thanks a lot for your
valuable help,
Best Regards,
Edrisse

Hi Edrisse,
you can safely restart the qmaster without any problem. You also
do not need to suspend the jobs. You even could restart the execd
on the corresponding host without impact on the job.
Cheers,
Fritz

Dear
Grid Engine developers and users,
I reconfigured some queues and thus need to restart the queue
master.
The issue is that I have important jobs running at the moment.
So, I
cannot make the test without risks. So I have 2 questions :
1) Does restarting the sge_qmaster kills the running jobs ?
2) If I suspend the running jobs and restart the sge_qmaster,
will they
restart properly ?
Notes: - I'm using OGS/GE version 2011.11.
- I guess it should not kill the jobs according to :

<cid:part1.03080104.02090102@kaust.edu.sa>
, but it may be outdated
since I use a newer version of GE.
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
Edrisse
