Yes. I think what I wanted to type was 'SoGE 8.1.3'...
SGE6.2 and OGE8.1.3 execd's happily coexist on the same nodes;
however, I found that the qmaster processes don't, unfortunately.
What was the problem? You should be able to be able to operate a cloned
installation in parallel with the old version.
Yes, which I did; sort of - not a problem with the execd's at all, but
running both the old and new qmaster on the same host always ended with
one of them (can't remember which one it was) dying when a job got
submitted. I'm pretty sure I had changed all the paths, ports etc. I'll
see if I can dig out my notes on it.
I ended up simply running the 'old' qmaster process on a temporary
server (aren't virtual machines great :) ) so I didn't really see that
as a problem - other than that, yes both version ran in parallel quite
happily, jobs could finish, ...
