Hello,
in it's most basic form you could use pssh-tools: http://code.google.com/p/parallel-ssh/ However, this can get messy really fast, especially when some nodes are offline or when nodes lose their system disk. Then there are dedicated management tools for infrastructure, most from a devops view. The most popular seem to be: Puppet - http://puppetlabs.com/ Chef - http://www.opscode.com/chef/ CFEngine - http://cfengine.com/ If you have a homogeneous cluster you can use specialized toolkits like xCAT or Rocks: http://xcat.sourceforge.net/ http://www.rocksclusters.org/wordpress/ And then there is OpenVenus, which is more suited to heterogeneous clusters: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openvenus/ Disclaimer: I work for the company that created and maintains the closed source counterpart scVENUS (which inspired OpenVenus).
