Hi,

I was about to suggest oneSIS when I saw that Dave was suggesting it. I would
still put my two cents on it, given that we run a small, but very heterogenous
cluster using oneSIS for node management. One of the aspects I like most with
it, is that adding a new node is just a matter of setting it to PXE-boot, and
put the mac address of the node into the dhcp config. That's it. We are also
running several workstations within the department as part of out cluster.
Since they are either windows or mac boxes, we use the rather awkward solution
of running the SGE node as a VirtulBox virtual machine, net booting over
OpenVPN. These nodes are only used for low i/o, high cpu batch jobs, but they
add a significant amount of cores for such jobs during non-office hours.
