I have only access to a cluster with 6.2, there it works like expected AFAICS. 
Do you also observe this on the command line running just an endless loop while 
setting a time limit with `-limit -t 60` or so too - it should stop really soon.

And does a `time ./loop-for-some-time-app` gives the same (wrong) output about 
the used up resources? Is there a difference in the bash builtin `time` command 
and `/usr/bin/time`?
