Hello -

I'm the Fedora maintainer for gridengine and I'm looking at what to do with
gridengine in Fedora/EPEL7. I'd like to package up Son of Grid Engine (the
current "gridengine" package is really OpenGridScheduler), but this is what
I'm considering:

- Since the upstream tarball is sge-*, the package really should be named
"sge". So I'm leaning towards making the full switch to the "sge" name for
rpms and install path (/usr/share/sge).

- I haven't yet decided if I want to retire the current gridengine package or
try to keep it around as well. If I do retire them, the new sge packages will
"obsolete" and replace the old gridengine packages. If I don't retire them
I'll have to decide whether or not to have the two packages conflict or try to
implement alternatives to be able to switch between the two.

Does anyone out there other than me make use of the gridengine rpms from
Fedora or EPEL and have any desires?

- Orion
