Pivotal was never really on our side. They looked for something to make money with out of a portfolio of not money making projects in EMC and Vmware mostly, to concentrate on that and abandon the others. So in case of Groovy and Grails it was only ballast to them and they have been looking for a way out. So they don't bet against us, as much as they never did bet on us.
