The code I am looking for seems to be in org.codehaus.groovy.transform.stc.StaticTypeCheckingVisitor#existsProperty.
However it's a super-long method and I'm looking for a way to get the method resolved from the property rather than just a boolean... so far I don't seem to have much choice but copying and pasting.
