Pentaho Reporting is [LGPL ](https://github.com/pentaho/pentaho-reporting/blob/9.4/LICENSE.txt), which is incompatible with the APL 2.0 license. Even if porting that plugin would be technically trivial (it isn't), it couldn't be included in the Apache Hop code base and releases. I totally understand this is an annoying situation, but I'm afraid you'll have to look for an alternative for your reports (or start paying for Pentaho EE) anway, now that Pentaho no longer is open source. There could be other options, but one possible alternative could be migrating your reports to Eclipse BIRT.
