Point 3: I guess Hans is right. Recent Postgres an MSSQL I.e. offer an optional "matched by target" clause in their MERGE implementations (i.e. in order to delete those not coming in source any more), which Oracle does not (yet). Not sure about MySql and MariaDB and DB2 (-variants i.e. DB2/400 I would doubt) as well as Terradata.
