Does sendfile work ok for you when you #include virtual a file
greater than 255 characters via SSI / shtml?
I compiled using sun's gcc in sfw and am wondering if that's the problem
before
I go filing a bug report with sun.

This, I think, might be the critical thing... I too have 3.3.2 on solaris 10
