With the command line Apache application:
  
Test the service's configuration file 
apache -n "Apache2" -t 
Syntax OK
   
  Start the Apache2 service.
  
apache -n "Apache2" -k start 
   
  does not produce any output.

What does the error log say? What happens when you start apache from
the command line? What operating system?
