Hi all.

I have difficulties compiling several IPv6-patched software under
Solaris8.

Some time ago, an error rose up in several patched packages (e.g.
rsync-2.3.1) during configuring the package:
- -----
checking getaddrinfo bug... buggy
Fatal: You must get working getaddrinfo() function.
       or you can specify "--disable-ipv6".
- -----
Does anybody know what this is all about, and why it shows up suddenly?

I solved this problem in linux (mandrake7.1) by upgrading the glibc
to a newer version (2.1.2 if I remember correctly), but I have no idea
what I have to do under Solaris8.
Any solutions how I should get rid of this most annoying error message?

Greetings,
    Christian
