Just create an empty file named '/etc/hostname6.<interface name>', where 
"interface name" might be "hme0", "le0", or whatever your system has 
installed in it.  Then, reboot the machine.  You'll also need a router 
that is broadcasting router advertisements (RA), too, on that network 
segment.  If you don't have a router that supports IPv6, or isn't 
configured for IPv6, then only a link-local and site-local IPv6 address 
will be configured on your node.
