Hi, I am a beginner at IPv6. I am trying to assign a site-local address to my private subnet at a Sun Solaris machine. I installed Solaris 8 with IPv6 enabled. I got an automatic link-local address: fe80::203:baff:fe08:6504. Then I tried to change it into a site-local address. I typed the following command: ifconfig eri0 inet6 fec0::203:baff:fe08:6504 Then I got the following error message: ifconfig: SIOCSLIFADDR: eri0: cannot assign requested address I would appreciate for any help to fix the problem.
