We've used ALTQ (ver3.0) run on FreeBSD to set 6 bits of DSCP. 
(see draft rfc2474 @ http://ieft.org/rfc/rfc2474.txt). Use 
tcpdump , you can see the traffic class field display the flag 
you just set on the input interface.
