Hello there,
I am testing Windows XP for a while and I am - of course :) - trying the IPv6
connectivity.
I already have a Linux machine with ipv6 up and running, using 3ffe:8171:10:8::/64. I
decided to reserve 3ffe:8171:10:8::1984:0:0/96 to this LAN test.
On the Linux machine, I used:
# ifconfig eth0 inet6 add 3ffe:8171:10:8::1984:0:5/96
# /sbin/route -A inet6 add 3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:5/96 dev eth0
And on WinXP, after installing the ipv6 stack, I used:
> ipv6 adu 4/3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:1
> ipv6 rtu ::/0 4/3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:5
4 is the number of my ethernet card.
At this point, the two machines can ping each other:
root@dejavu:~# ping6 -c3 3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:1
PING 3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:1(3ffe:8171:10:8:0:1984:0:1) from

The problem takes place when I try to go outside:

This means "Destination address unreachable". But, of course, from the Linux box it
works perfectly:

The "3ffe:8171:10:8::1984:0/112" route is from an earlier test, but I had not any
success in removing it.
I also tried echoing '1' into /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding, with no
improvement.
If I start a tcpdump when I try the ping6 from the inner machine, this is what I get:
root@dejavu:~# tcpdump -ieth0 port not ssh
tcpdump: listening on eth0

Ok, enough to say that I am totally confused and I have no clue about what to do to
make it work.
Could anyone please help with some practical examples?
Thanks in advance :)
