We really don't recommend running old releases, since they lack many features and we can't support them anymore.I'm looking for 11.3-based tipv6 IOS image for c2511 (c2500-tipv6-l.1999smth).We have some old 2511 to play with (no chances to update Flash/DRAM, 12.2T not an option). Three years ago I tryed ipv6 on it (c2500-tipv6-l.0519), but this IOS dated back to 1998 and someway buggy. Now our base 6bone network is FreeBSD/Solaris based, but we want to setup some ciscos just for tests. When I search for tipv6 on CCO I get no matches and write message to CISCO support. They reply that they had deleted all tipv6 images from CCO and I should try 12.2T instead (but, as I mentioned above, I cann't). So, if somebody has c2500-tipv6-l.19990308 or newer - pls contact me via e-mail!
However, Cisco has a program called "TMP" - the Technology Migration Program - which allows you to trade in your old cisco hardware against the cost of new cisco hardware. You do this through your cisco rep.
This would seem to be a good way to leverage value from those old routers that are just gathering dust in your store room!
See http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/largeent/purchase/trade_in.shtml
Cheers.
