convert ipv6 address to mac address

Hello,   is there any function or command for linux to get the mac address out of an ipv6 address? An ipv6 address contains the mac address in the eui64 format. So the function should convert it to the mac address. Maybe someone can help me with this problem.   Regards, Nico
