This is incorrect. You can use two colons (::) only once in an IPv6 address, otherwise ambiguous grammar.

therefore once we are given this "1080::8::417A" address, how do we know whether it is a shortcut for:
1080:0000:0000:0000:0008:0000:0000:417A or 1080:0000:0000:0008:0000:0000:0000:417A
The only solution I can see is that maybe IPV6 would not allow more than 4 hexadecimal fields containing 0000...
anyone has an idea???
