Hi seba

I had the same problem long time ago when a Linux box works as IPv6 router. The problem is related to the default route, the default route seems not work for forwarding.

The solution i use, consist in the creation of a default route in a special way.

execute these lines:

   route --inet6 add F000::/1 gw <the nexthop address>
   route --inet6 add 7000::/1 gw <the nexthop address>

Thats all

Hello, i try with ipv6 a simple exercise to do, but i
habe a problem, i cant to go from Host1 to Host2. All
are with linux Red hat 9 and i tried too with Fedora
Core2.

Host1 -- Router1 -- Router2 -- Host2

My configuration

Host1
eth0--IPv6_Add=fec0::10:20c:29ff:fe89:6b4b (Dinamic)
network--forwarding=no
network--autoconf=yes
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_router=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_autoconf=yes

Router1
eth0--IPv6_Add=fec0::10:20c:29ff:fe95:7684
eth1--IPv6_Add=fec0::11:20c:29ff:fe95:768e
network--forwarding=yes
network--autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_router=yes
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6addr="fec0::10:20c:29ff:fe95:7684"
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6_router=yes
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6_autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6addr="fec0::11:20c:29ff:fe95:768e"

Router2
eth0--IPv6_Add=fec0::11:20c:29ff:fe92:af99
eth1--IPv6_Add=fec0::12:20c:29ff:fe92:afa3
network--forwarding=yes
network--autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_router=yes
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6addr="fec0::11:20c:29ff:fe92:af99"
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6_router=yes
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6_autoconf=no
ifcfg-eth1--ipv6addr="fec0::11:20c:29ff:fe92:afa3"

Host2
eth0--IPv6_Add=fec0::12:20c:29ff:fe (Dinamic)
network--forwarding=no
network--autoconf=yes
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_router=no
ifcfg-eth0--ipv6_autoconf=yes

I added two statics routes, one to the Router1 for the
Network between Router2 and Host2, and another in
Router2 for the Network between Router1 and Host1.

Thanks in advance,
Sebastian.
