Hello,

I have the following 2 inet6 addresses on interface eth0:

ip -6 addr show dev eth0
3: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qlen 1000
    inet6 3ffe:303:11:2:2a0:9cff:fe00:436/64 scope global dynamic
       valid_lft 2591995sec preferred_lft 604795sec
    inet6 fe80::2a0:9cff:fe00:436/64 scope link
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

When I do a bind on these addresses, the "fe80::2a0:9cff:fe00:436" always
fails to bind with the bind error of "ENODEV".

I do remember reading somewhere on the web that a bind can not be done on a
Link-Local address.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so, what is the explanation behind
it?

Thanks,
Phil Bellino
