Hi,

I'm new in using cisco router. Just tried to configure a cisco1841 router(ISO v12.4) as a default ipv6 router.

Here is what I did:

Command

Purpose

Step 1

enable

Example:

Router> enable

Enables privileged EXEC mode.

• Enter your password if prompted.

Step 2

configure terminal

Example:

Router# configure terminal

Enters global configuration mode.

Step 3

ipv6 unicast-routing

Example:

Router(config)# ipv6 unicast routing

Enables the forwarding of IPv6 unicast datagrams.

But after step 3, I got the following error message:

================================

"Invalid input detected at '^' marker

(Also tried: ipv6 enable, got the same error message again)

I wonder why the above error message prompted up and how to fix it?

(Do I have to do configure something else in order to be able to configure

for ipv6 addresses?)

Thanks very much!

Susan
