Do you have isis-module-security in the classpath ? You need something like org.isisaddons.module.security.webapp.AppUserRegistrationService which role is to store the newly created users in the DB. This demo service extends from org.isisaddons.module.security.userreg.SecurityModuleAppUserRegistrationServiceAbstract which provides almost everything. You just need to give a role to the newly created user.
