I think he didn't want to edit the builtin-nodetypes.xml. He was just
looking for a XSD to validate his own XML nodetype definitions.

As far as I know there is no such XSD and most people use CND (http://
jackrabbit.apache.org/doc/nodetype/cnd.html) to maintain their own
nodetypes. CND provides no validation but is much easier to read.
-- I agree for the easier and shorter path. Yet I prefer finding
errors during "edit" over only seeing them in the console @ runtime.
It seems an (obsolete and) painfull way to debug these files.
(pushing us back to Java 1.3!)
Also, for newcomers, XML fed by an fine XSD offers autocompletion and
shows you all options wherever you are editing the file. CND may
speed up grey wizards, it slows down newcomers.
For a young API like this one, I consider this a strategic downside.
(then again, who am I to tamper with good ideas)
