Are you using versioning?

The version history for all workspaces are stored in a single version workspace (and common version_* tables in the RDMS). This wil be a problem for doing workspace specific backups from the filesystem or database.

Hi Thomas et al,
We've using hot backups of the file system and database right now. That's ok
but I really want to be able to backup and restore individual workspaces
(our system has a distinct workspace for each customer). Imagine the
scenario where a particular workspace was corrupted or we wished to migrate
a workspace between environments etc.

Given a file system and database backup I'm comfortable with:
1) the workspace specific tables, and
2) the [reposhome]/workspaces/[workspace] directory

But what I don't know is what workspace specific state exists in 3)
[reposhome]/repository and 4) [reposhome]/version.

If I wanted to restore a particular workspace from a backup is it sufficient
to restore 1) and 2) or are 3) and 4) affected.

Regards,
Shaun.

Hi,

Would hot backup of the underlying file system / database be a
solution for you, and if not why not?

Thomas
