Not really. Internally Jackrabbit assigns a UUID to all nodes, and that UUID is simply just made visible if a node is mix:referenceable. Note that while this is currently true for Jackrabbit, it might not be true for other JCR implementations or future Jackrabbit versions. BR, Jukka Zitting
