Also it depends how you configure your repository: You can set up data store (binary data - pdfs) to save all to file system or all to db as binary fields. See http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/DataStore. So it depends on your configuration. It looks you save something to filesystem and something to db even if it is weird why it is about the same. See param minRecordLength. How big are your pdfs? Are all about the same size?
