I don't have a direct answer for you, but you can take a look at how we configure the Oak repository in Sling https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-jcr-oak-server/blob/master/src/main/java/org/apache/sling/jcr/oak/server/internal/OakSlingRepositoryManager.java We only configure the 'Jcr' object and allow it to configure the 'Oak' instance implicitly.
