I guess there was a change in the plugin in the past.
The doc says there is a default for files (the usual 0644). But
clearly it didn't simply do that in the past if it has ever worked.

Thanks a lot Andy, that was quick! I've checked the most recent SNAPSHOT
builds and the problem is now gone, the scripts are again executable.
Sorry for forgetting to mention that I used the .tar.gz distribution,
thankfully you and Lorenz found that out quickly.
