Hi,

I'm running MM2 via Kafka Connect and i'm seeing some interesting messages
that I'm not sure about.

Basically every 5 minutes (or metadata.max.age.ms depending) i'm seeing a
message
[Producer clientId=connector-producer-mm2-source-connector-<task_no>]
Resetting the last seen epoch of partition <topic-name>-<partition> to 0
since the associated topicId changed from null to <hash-value>

There is a message for every task-id and partition combination.

I'm running a Kafka 2.8.2 source and target clusters (Across GCP Regions)
but i'm using a later version of KC (3.1) as I need to use
the IdentityReplicationPolicy.

I don't see the messages on smaller lab instances.
Should the metadata topicId be null at the end of the idle period?
I see the messages on topics that MM2 is writing to constantly so its
unlikely that the idle window is actually reached without the
topic/partition being written to

Karl
