Hi. As far as I can see, the Metrics object is always created with enableExpiration=false without any option to override this behavior. Is there any way to enable garbage collection of expired metrics? For context - I have some dynamic topics created and those end up in metrics object accumulating over time. There is a similar bug opened for tests ( https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-8782) - don't know why it was assumed as a test problem only.
