Hi,

I have experience with Telco billing, and would like to ask the Kannel
Community, if any one has done any work with the production of CDR (Call
Data Records) form the bearerbox or smsbox log files. A CDR file contains
details of every transaction made by the Network Elements (Exchange/SMSC)
and are used by the Telco customer billing system to produce bills.

If a Kannel based service is being offered to a Telco in a revenue share (or
by the Telco), this data is required for either the billing of customers by
the Telco OR for call analysis by the Kannel team (top 100 users, top
services etc).

a CDR for an SMS service could have the following attributes;

File name <HOSTNAME>_<INBOUND>_<SEQ_NO>_<YYYYMMDDHHMMSS>.TXT

hostname = system name,
inbound = a file would be created for INBOUND and OUTBOUND SMS
seq_no = incremented sequence number,
date = date at when file was started, a new file would be written every 30
minutes for example

sample:

kannelserver1_outbound_0015_20010803130500.TXT

File contents
<YYYYMMDDHHMMSS> <ORIGNATING_NUMBER> <TERMINATING_NUMBER> <SERVICE_NAME>

sample:

20010803121359 01234123123 01234555555 NEWS
20010803130024 01234123123 01234656565 SPORT

I trust the above is self explanatory, and if anyone has any comments please
contact me.

Regards

James
