what do you want to do with it?
POP3 is for checking email.. Surely you want a SMTP interface?
Do you want to send SMSs from email or SMS to email?

You can do SMS from email  many ways; procmail, .forwards, fetchmail, qmail 
filtering, talk to the SMTP server directly......

SMS to email - well set up a sms-service in kannel..
