We've been experimenting with kannel 1.0.3 and have managed to get it working well with a siemens M20 doing 2-way SMS. Based on what I've read on these lists we plan to upgrade to a later CVS version (probably 1.1.5) for production use. We'll be establishing connectivity to SMSCs in the next few weeks via X.25 and will need to support CMG and SMPP. Being clueless about X.25 and how this all works, I was wondering if someone could help me out with a few questions I have:

1) We're running Kannel on Debian 2.2. What is the best way to actually physically connect to a X.25 line? I've been looking at the few cards that are available for Linux (sangoma, eicon), but am not sure how kannel would work with this. Would it be better to have some sort of Cisco router between Kannel and the X.25 connection instead? Details would be much appreciated.

2) We'll probably need to have a group of kannel servers in failover. Can we just use LVS or equivalent? If so, how does that fit in with the X.25 connectivity?

thanks for your help.
