username/password not sent to SMSC: please help

Hello,   We are trying to use the Kannel gateway to connect to an CMG SMSC, using EMI over IP. The connection to the SMSC is set up nicely, but I am not able to send messages, since the SMSC complains that no password is provided in the request.   When I look at the EMI string sent to the SMSC, I cannot find the username/password information I supplied in the configuration file. Can anybody tell me whether this is a know bug? Or should this work?   Thanks, Willem.
