I've done quite a bit of work on the Nextel iDen network, but never using Kannel, so keep this in mind. First, doesn't the UP.Linc gateway expect to exchange items such as the UP 'subscriber id' at the begining of the session? Given this, I would expect the UP.Browser on the phone to want to exchange this using the Openwave/Phone.com protocols - especially if your phone is an older model such as the i1000 or i85 ...
