Dear Kannel Users, I have some questions about the setup of sms gateway, please help!
Below message is copy from the userguide: Required components To set up an SMS gateway, you need, in addition to machine running Kannel, an access to (operator's) SMS center, or possibly to multiple ones. The list of supported SMS centers and their configuration variables is below. If you do not have such an access, you can still use Kannel as an SMS gateway via phone-as-SMSC feature, by using a GSM phone as virtual SMS center. In addition to SMS center (real or virtual), you need some server to handle any SMS requests received. This server then has simple or more complex cgi-bins, programs or scripts to serve HTTP requests generated by Kannel in response to received SMS messages. These services can also initiate SMS push via Kannel smsbox HTTP sendsms interface. I want to setup a wap and sms gateway in HK, but I do not have the access to SMS center. How can I use Kannel as an SMS gateway via phone-as-SMSC? I only got a Nokia 6110 + serial datalink cable. Can I use this set of equipments to setup a virtual sms center? If not what equipment I need to get? Thanks again! Randal Law
