Kannel implements SMPP v3.4, but the implementation is completly backward compatible
to v3.3, AFAIK. OTOH, the version field is always set to v3.4, and while it should be
ignored by SMPP v3.3 servers, sometimes it doesn't. the current CVS version has a
setting for the interface version, so you can try to set it to "33" to "force" version
3.3.
Also - some SMPP providers uses SMPP with some tweaks (for example : BTCellnet UK uses
a couple of error messages defined in the protocol for purposes other then what the
protocol state they should be used), and this can potentially break some of kannel's
behaviour.
