Hello All,

For some time now we have had a working Kannel set-up (linux rh 7.2) using a
Siemiens M20 GSM modem as an SMS centre. With this set-up we have been able
to send and receive SMS messages using Kannel.

However, just recently we have lost the ability to send and receive and no
configuration changes have been made.

The following errors show up in the bearer box log when trying to send:

2002-06-13 16:20:49 [6] ERROR: AT2[MODEM]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 500

And in the smsbox log:

2002-06-13 16:04:31 [3] INFO: smsbox: Got HTTP request </cgi-bin/sendsms>
from <217.169.xx.xxx>
2002-06-13 16:04:31 [3] INFO: sendsms used by <test>
2002-06-13 16:04:31 [3] INFO: sendsms sender:<test:+39xxxxxxxx>
(217.169.xx.xxx) to:<0044xxxxxxxx> msg:<this is a test>

The GSM modem is actually located in another country and I connect to it
over an ip link - but at the OS level it just shows up as a /dev/tty device.
I can issue at commands to it now - and receive at responses. I an trying to
get it power cycled at the moment etc.. We get similar problems when trying
to receive SMS messages and have Kannel generate URL calls.

But, I would like to know what these CMS error messages are about, and if
they are documented? I can't find any info. on the Kannel site about this.

So, any help is gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Will.
