Fixed it. Again, for any newbies like me trawling these messages in the future: When sending sms/ota via http: the dlrmask defaults to 0, which equates to "all off" (i.e. no delivery reports). I added "&dlrmask=31" to my transmission url and am now getting records in the db. The Kannel userguide shows which kind of report each bit position in the mask controls.
