Hi

I have Kannel working with one SMSC using SMPP v3.4 - working very well I
should add!
The vendor insists that I have the souce address set to our MSISDN number
for their billing. I have the sender set using the default-sender variable
in the sendsms-user section, which works fine for now.
I will be adding a second SMSC to the configuration shortly, but I realised
that the sending SMSC will have to be set in the sendsms-user section and I
can't set it in the smsc section - this means I'll have to set up two smsbox
logins - one for each SMSC, since if the sender address is set to the MSISDN
of one SMSC, it can't be delivered by the other SMSC. It also means that I
can't 'fail-over' between the two SMSC's, letting both send all allowed
prefixes and using preferred-prefix for their own local mobile prefix.
A solution to this would be if I could set the source address in the smsc
section, but Kannel won't allow default-sender/faked-sender in the smsc
section. (I tried.. hoped for an undocumented workaround :)

So, if anyone has any ideas or thoughts, please send them on.

Thanks,

David Tully
