Hello everybody.

I'm facing an issue when it comes to send messages longer than 160 characters using a Wavecom Modem acting as SMSC. The thing is that when a service is accessed and the reply has more than 160 chars, two things happen depending on the value of the "concatenated" flag:

+ If concatenated = true, only one message is sent, but the terminal device seems to reassemble the message incorrectly, since it crops parts of the text in a strange way. The final portion of the text comes intact, but there are missing characters in the middle of it, making it fit in 160 chars. I tested this in some Alcatel terminals and in some Nokia terminals.

+ If concatenated = false, two (or more) messages are sent, but the message containing the last portion of the long message is received first by the terminal device.

Could this be an issue regarding our local GSM network, or could it be related to configuration of the modem, or it is related to the terminal devices?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
