I am using a Wavecom Fastrack with Kannel to support SMS services here in Costa Rica. The thing is that recently this services went public, and because of the massive amount of SMS received, the modem seems to hang up after a period of 3.5 to 4 hours of constantly receiving messages. Once this happens, the only way to bring things up again is powering-off the modem and restarting bearerbox and smsbox. If the modem is not unplugged, I mean, if I just restart bearer and sms, Kannel is unable to initialize the modem properly. It reports that it is unable to open the device.
Has anyone come to this problem before with Wavecom modems?
