All,
we are serving mobile content via Kannel and SMSCs to our end users,
including regular 7-bit and 8-bit content as well as wap downloads. We are
about to get into MMS services and MMS content. Could somebody in broad
terms explain to me what is required to start serving MMS content (assuming
we have MMS content developed)?
I.e. do we need an MMS gateway to communicate with the operators' MMSC? If
so, are there any open source MMS gateways? Or will kannel support whatever
MMS gateway functionality necessary in the future? Or is it at all needed?
Triggered by an SMS MO, how would we push MMS content via an operators MMSC
to the end user? Is this a huge task?
People are offering MMS service platforms and I don't know if it's worth
digging into this ourselves or if we should get third-party apps.
Greatly appreciating any comments on this.
