Cancel wappush message

I submit a push message to the PPG and receive a push response saying that
the message
was accepted for processing, however when i submit a cancel-message I
receive a bad-message 
response and see "erroneous control entity" in the gateway logs.

Has anybody cancelled or queried a previously submitted wappush message to
the kannel gateway??
